The key brands clearly are KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and our home grown brand which is Vaango and Food Street. A slew of our own brands are doing extremely well as well as the top international brands which we are carrying. There is a huge headroom for us to grow. We are in the fast food market and there is no reason why the growth should not come for these brands.

The fund that has been raised via IPO is going to be used for repayment or rather prepayment of all or certain borrowings as well as general corporate purposes. Does this include your expansion plans as well?

The funds are mainly going to be used for repaying debt. The company will practically become debt free after this and the company will generate enough cash for the growth it needs. So, the company will not need to further dilute or borrow for expansion plans.

On March 20, 2022, the market was abuzz with a company’s delisting offer. The promoters of Elcid Investments were offering Rs 1,61,023 when the share was trading at Rs 17!

Elcid Investments is largely owned by the Arvind Vakil family, one of the four who founded Asian Paints.

Some would say the shareholders hit a jackpot with the delisting offer.

Yet, a minority shareholder is accusing the company and the promoter group of deceit. In a letter to Sebi, the minority shareholder Dhiraj Mittal accuses Elcid Investments and promoters of “engaging in acts that are deceptive and manipulative and apparently oppressive to the non-promoter shareholders”. The complaint has also reached the grievance cell of the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to Anurag Batra, we Indians are on the path of economic recovery, greatly on account of our vaccination program.PM Modi outlined this in his address. He brought out the broad contours of what has been happening and plans to bring the economy back to growth track and at pace. Anurag Batra expects Washington Post and New York Times to show pictures of how vaccination has happened in India and how it has been a huge success. He wishes the foreign media to showcase the Indian Government’s success in vaccination and many related areas. The Indian civil society, NGOs, healthcare delivery providers and even media outlets have played a stellar role in this. Anurag Batra also mentioned that he is doubly vaccinated.

Anurag Batra also brought to the limelight, the matter about foreign Medias belittling India’s achievements. Hesays with empirical evidence over last 20 years including in the UPA regime, that foreign media plays up negatives of India and belittle India’s achievements. He expects the foreign media to balance these views and speak all stakeholders in India’s growth whether politicians, policymakers, government officials, media leaders, opinion leaders and independent analysts across the spectrum. Anurag Batra believes that it is their fiduciary duty to show the positives of India, alongside criticism where that is due.

India is growing and in the next 3 years it will grow at an incredible pace, says Anurag Batra. It is time to give credit to India and Indian citizens and to the government and the PM. As per the views of Anurag Batra, India has an embracing inclusive humanism. “We Indians were always creative, hardworking, sincere society filled with many selfless ordinary citizens. The last months of the pandemic have seen the citizens open up their hearts, homes and purses in support of their fellow citizens. I would like to see foreign media look at numbers, statistics, progress and overall success of our vaccination program as well as our response to shortcomings we may have had – something that every country has experienced in the course of the pandemic and not always responded as well as we have”, Anurag Batra asserted.

Anurag Batra also acknowledged the Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) pledge of the PM, because of which all of the Indians became even more determined to contribute to solving the problems of the world. India’s incredible vaccination drive has the potential to be a role model for the world and be an inspiration for many leaders, governments and civil society to accelerate their vaccination drives and achieve rates that can help the world, Anurag Batra concluded.
